Cooking Master Boy to Receive a New Anime
A new anime in the Chuuka Ichiban! (Cooking Master Boy) universe has been announced. The new series will be based on the manga “Shin Chuuka Ichiban!”, which is the sequel to the original Chuuka Ichiban! manga. Production I.G and NAS will be producing the series, while Kawasaki Itsuro will be directing and overseeing the script.
For those who haven’t seen the original series, Chuuka Ichiban! is set in a fictitious 19th century China. Chefs from around the country compete in culinary ability tests to become a master chef. As a master chef they gain respect and authority. The main story revolves around Liu Mao Xing, a young chef who learned cooking from his mother. He embarks on a journey to become a Super Chef after saving his mother’s restaurant. Throughout his journey he battles other chefs with other cooking styles as well as uncovering the secrets of the Dark Cooking Society.
